Anything after mate 1.8 is fully accessible. You can upgrade if you want
but you don't have to.
Thanks
Hi Kendell,
Thanks a million for all the patient answers.
Basically I am planning a serious shift because Unity although totally
accessible, is very heavy on memory and Gnome is having issues with
things like notification and file searching, although it looks good and
proffessional.
So with the given accessibility of Mate which people have been praising
so much, I thought I will shift for a couple of months and then look
again at Ubuntu 16.04 with Gnome 3.18 if it has become any more
Now I would really like to know from all Mate users about the difference
or improvements of accessibility between 1.10 and 1.12?
accessible.
If the changes or improvements are not huge then I will not upgrade to
1.12, else will do so.
I am particularly keen on wifi or other similar notifications, file
search, alt+ tabbing between applications, access to menus and also panels.
I am as I had mentioned before, going to start a big training course for
blind students so I must make a proper choice.
happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
