(with i18n-coordination head on...)

The GNOME teams are just translating what is in gnome git (and some
modules that magically sync with freedesktop.org). Of course the same
people might be part of teams translating on Transiflex (where some of the
lower stack modules are hosted) and Rosetta/Launchpad but it is nothing we
control.

There was some debate about migrating to a different translation
infrastructure than damned-lies but in the end nobody wanted to do the
work and we are quite happy with what we have in damned-lies (thanks to
Claude). However integrating external modules seems to be a huge amount of
work including all the string freeze tracking and statistics we do.

One of the more difficult points in using other infrastructures is that
hardly any maintainer will allow automatic commits and our teams only have
GNOME git accounts.

There is a huge discussion about that issue in the archive of this list
together with the new module organization. Feel free to read that.

Regards,
Johannes
