Oh, really? I hadn't heard that. That sucks. Still it is pretty easy
to select a desktop from the session manager without speech. You just
have to remember what order they show up in. However, I suppose if
speech isn't working editing the lightdm.conf file is the easiest way
to switch default shell/GUI environment.
