Interesting view :) But then, why do we even show those "flashing"
messages, let's put only the error ones :)
Define an error?
It is "comforting" seeing things flash by, it means things are working.
("I haven't got any emails for a while. Are things broken. Ah, no, it's
all OK. People just don't want to talk to me.")
It's useful to see when things are being slow - there's no error as
such, it's just taking a long time - at least you can see that either
the network is slow, or some moron has just sent a 30Mb file by email,
or there is something that needs to be looked at.
There's a lot to be said for positive reinforcement that things are OK.
