Is that all the output from the debug log?  After the capability
interrogation it should go on to try and login.

After the capability checking evolution asks for the password through
dbus and if there's no secrets service, the background thread simply
hangs. No error, no local password dialog. No hints at the other side of
the connection, either.
I was bitten by that problem and it was hard to realise what was
happenning.


Svante, evolution requires a org.freedesktop.secrets provider. Usually
gnome-keyring-daemon or kwallet (other programs also providing that
interface should work as well, but I don't know of more).
