hmmm, I'll look to see if anything has changed.

Ah, yeah this would be a problem.  Jeff, you're going to need to
translate the output from gpg from the current locales charset to utf-8
before you write it to gtkhtml.

not sure, I think rh6.2 did a lot of odd things with locale settings.
