other hand GNU autotools are tried and proven and the standard for

Juerg, it would be really nice to have the fixes on the Gtk bindings
upstream and released so that these widgets works out of the box ;-)
I'll post a patch on bugzilla soon, since I have also collected some
other vapi changes.
But the Gtk.Container.forall() issue currently can't get solved by an
entry in 'gtk+-2.0.metadata' - only by editing 'gtk+-2.0.vapi' directly.

we have to keep those widgets in shape as a way to show people how easy
it is to 1) Write widgets in Vala, and 2) Port code from C#.
In my experience the main issues with writing widgets in Vala are

I'll do a blog post as soon as I get them building.
