YUes, it should most definitely be be optional. Actually, Window-Eyes
has a complete Verbosity setion in its options to control such things
- -- especially with Microsoft Office stuff. All this extra information
such as font styles, page numbers, header allignment is definitely
extra important information that should be treated like punctuation
levels and have options to turn parts of it on and off accordingly.
An example of this needed flexibility happened to me the other day
when I had a document in Word that had a huge bunch of style changes
occurring throughout the document. I usually like to know ehen these
changes occur but this one went overboard with the info. I merely
turned style changes off in WE's verbosity options and the doc read
much easier after that.

Maybe a "verbosity" or "format" option should be added which can
control levels of this being spoken; then it could be separately
controled for continuous reading or reading line by line manually.

Here is a suggestion: this functionality should be provided, but it should be
optional. Orca allows for application-specific preferences, and this should be
one.

There may be disagreement about whether it should be on or off by default, but
as long as it is an option which can be changed, everyone will be satisfied.
