Re: [orca-list] suggestions for openoffice/orca improvements

Lastly, is there a way to easily insert a symbol, such as degrees in a document?

This one I know.

press Alt+CTRL+u.
type the hexidecimal unicode value for the character you whish to incert.
press either space or enter.

This incerts the unicode character with the given hexidecimal value into your document. This also works in
gedit, so it's not an open office thing, it's more a gnome or general linux trickI guess.

For a degree symbol the unicode is 00B0 so you'd type "ALT+CTRL+u" type "00B0" (or just "B0") and enter.
Note: on my machine, pressing ALT+CTRL+U, orca says "u," but after you type the value and enter, it can read
the actual character. Someone might want to think of a better anouncement that you've entered "unicode
incert mode" or something.

I hope this helps.
