I'm seeing this one too. My system is Ubuntu 8.04 with all latest
updates applied, plus ATK/at-spi/gail/Orca from subversion. Thought
about filing a bug, but thought I'd check the list first to see if
anyone else was experiencing this.

I'm getting the same thing not only in gnome terminal but also in
latest nightly of Firefox. BTW as a side note, the char by char
navigation in FF is working good now.

This problem with symbol 0 started after I applied SVN uipdate this
morning to 3901. I'm betting it was these latest flat review fixes.
I haven't tried gnome speech yet but I am using Speech Dispatcher
module with espeak. Before this latest set of updates, I heard all
chars as I would normally expect them. Oh I've heard symbol0 many
times in the past; in fact, I hear that a lot in Thunderbird with flat
review but that is probably another matter.

I just switched to gnome speech with espeak and I do hear punctuation
marks being spoken properly.
