hi,
I followed this list a few weeks
and I'm very confused why the users talk about
more features and mor and more
I tested orca together with Halim
and I think at this time we don't need more feature for special
applications
first of all we need a clear structure for representing braille and speech
I'm more the braille user and Halim is more the speech user
orca represents much meta information on the braille display
braille-space is very expensive :-)
so don't represent to much meta-info on the braille display
for example on my 80 cell display
the most interesting information starts at position 50 or greater
so I got 50 useless cells
if I navigate in flat-review I'm not able to identify the status of a
control
I just see the label and I don't know what kind of control it is and I
don't know the status
to get an overview of a dialog or an application frame it's
essential to have these information on a braille display
the quetion from Halim is also my question
why are the controls represent in a reverse order?
label comes first and then the control
the control should come first and then the label
or it should be adjustable
there are several navigation/ and representation problems
it should be fixed first - before we start adding features for special
applications
I know for a user this process is very boring and the user can't see any
progress, but
for the future it's very important to have stable basic features
thanks to the orca-devel-guys for this screenreader

Hi,
To Will:
I think the flat review should reflect the screenlayout with all of its
radio buttons, checkboxes, slidersetc.
It is nice to have a shortcut to get the Status but the user needs to
know that there is E. G. a checkbox.
By the way: In braille are these things not
availabe currrently.
Another question is:
Why are the labels of some controls placed not on the right order like
on the real screen???
Thanks
Halim
PS. The refresh problem should be fixed.
