Okay, so it sounds like the membership committee are also hesitant about
introducing anonymous voting for this years election. In that case, I
think we should go with that, and put schedule a referendum for after
the elections.

What do people think?

Agreed.  The change to anonymous voting seems to be contentious
enough that it requires an explicit referendum.  Whether that takes
place as part of the election, or after it, seems like a decision
best left to the people who will count the votes.  Which ever is
easier for the elections committee.
