Re: contribution to GTG project and GOPW

After struggling a bit with the whole git-commit-push conundrum, I managed to safely place the first draft of GTG user docs in Gitorious... ;)

I'd love to hear what you think, and anybody who has 5
spare minutes can just download the master as tar.gz, uncompress it and open any of the .page files with Yelp.

Don't mind the text itself much, this was more of the structural draft, to see how all the content pages link together in Mallard format. Once the structure is all in place and approved by the team, I'll proceed with polishing the actual text.

¡Hasta pronto! :)

Ok, so all's decided then... :)

I've created the new project for GTG User Documentation on Gitorious and I'm preparing the first guide and topic pages. I'll continue to update the shared Google Doc with Topic Outline as it seems to be the right place where we can all brainstorm and share ideas about the docs content. If you can think of a better place to do this, let me know.

BTW, Izidor, thanks for your latest comments on the topic outline, that's exactly the kind of feedback I need from you guys... ;)

Stay tuned!

Cheers,
Radina

I am aware that all of you guys would prefer to mentor somebody with a
coding project (which is totally understandable) and if Tiffany is
available to be the official mentor for my GOPW, I'll only need your
input, suggestions and ideas about the ongoing documentation... ;)

Most of us don't have many experiences with writing of documentation. I would help you with providing needed info and feedback.

What we (I mean mainly you, the GTG Developer group) need to decide at
this point is if Gitorious <https://gitorious.org/>, as platform Tiffany
suggested for my documentation project, is adequate for the GTG
development workflow, and if not, what other solution would you propose?
Personally I do not have any preferences between Launchpad and
Gitorious, but I would much rather use the tool/platform that suits all
of us.

The platform doesn't matter for you. Your work will be merged at the end and it won't interfere with other parts of GTG repository. (there are just two man pages, the rest is on the wiki). Feel free to choose a platform that suits you or your mentor from Documentation team better.

Izidor
