It might be more congenial, as well as more effective, to provide two links; the first (larger) to BitTorrent 
with a comment that participating in BitTorrent is faster and also is nice to everybody who uses and/or 
maintains GIMP, and the second (smaller) with a comment that says something like “Direct download, but 
without BItTorrent acceleration”.

Teaching, but not forcing.
