Simplest way: move over to using IMAP - none of this is necessary with
IMAP. (When copying your current local mail to an IMAP server from
within a mail client, the read/unread status will be retained.)

But, since you probably don't want to do that, try this. Find out where
Evolution stores it's data in your version (it's in the help bit) -
create a new mail account in TB and point it to the Evo maildir
location (I don't know how to do that with TB, I don't use it). Copy
and paste all the mail to where you want it in TB, delete the TB
account you just created.

The Maildir format Evolution uses is fairly standard and has the
unread/read status encoded in the filename.

Make sure Evolution, and any of its factories, are not running during
this process. Make sure you have a backup.

I haven't tested these instructions since I have no idea how it would
be done in TB - hence as I said you need to ask on a TB forum. You may
have to use some intelligence to modify what you are doing.

You do this at your own risk. If you get it wrong you risk loosing your
mail - this is NOT my fault.
