Apology: When earlier I said 'sync', i really meant 'clone', not dynamic
syncing between systems.
On Mon, 04 Apr 2011 13:13:22 +0100, I wrote:
Can this be done simply by copying ~/.evolution from one to the other?
As a test, I have done just that, on an earlier installation of Mandriva
on this desktop.
I then installed Evolution (though it was an earlier version there:
2.28.2), and started it.
At first it appeared to be ignoring ~/.evolution, as it required me to
define my identity and POP/SMTP accounts.
However, it then opened up and showed me all the email folders and
contents, complete addressbook, message filters, etc., and performed
Send/Receive as normal.
That suggests that Identity and POP/SMTP settings are not stored in
~/.evolution, but I cannot find where. Anyone know?
My ideas on how best to clone the email database to/from the laptop are
set out in another posting in here today.
I would really appreciate the team's feedback on some solution, as I
would like to stay with Evolution rather than revert to Kmail.
Many thanks to all,
