I am having the same problem. Since I updated to Evolution 1.4.3 inline
image display doesn't work anymore. Looking at the email source I see
this where the attachment begins:
--========GMXBoundary311941057918896
Seems, the message containing this strange MIME type are generated by
the GMX web-frontend. Can you verify this?
Correct. The sender has a @gmx.de email address. But still older
versions seemed to deal with this fine. I used the same IMAP source to
display the mail with 1.4.3 and 1.2.4. It's the exact same mail...
Well, as you can send messages via GMX using any MUA, the email address
does not identify the MUA properly. Judging from the boundary, it is
likely the web frontend. To be sure, check the mail headers for a line
very similar to:
X-Mailer: WWW-Mail 1.6 (Global Message Exchange)
This identifies the GMX web frontend as MUA.
FWIW: Seems, like GMX uses non-standard MIME types and thus breaks
proper identification for any receiving MUA, that looks at the MIME type
(like Evolution) rather than simply trying to display the attachment.
(The very same dumb behavior, that opens holes in OE... ;)
