Re: [Evolution] Saving attachments annoyance

I'm running Mandrake 9.0 and the problem is fixed. There was some
discussion about that topic weeks ago and AFAIK it is a GTK bug (as
Ettore said) and is fixed in Gnome 2.0.

I'm running Mandrake 9.0, also, but apparently it installed Gnome 1.4,
because I can't get it to accept Gnome 2 applications of any kind. And I
installed mine from the CDs. Then again, this is the same installation
that will not compile some programs, while it will compile others, and
which ones it will compile all seems to hinge on whether the tarball's
configure script can get a successful response to:
gcc -o conftest conftest.c 1>&5
[...]
And this is after installing every single package on all three CDs, plus
downloading and installing all of the Mandrake updates except gcc 2.96.

This is the same problem that prevented me from compiling the time check
code I got from the list here a couple weeks back.

Bill, I suspect, your installation is really broken then.

Mandrake 9.0 comes with Gnome 2.0 and works perfectly in that manner. As
you have Gnome 1.4... Did you a fresh install or just upgrading packets?

I remember your problems with the really short time check program -- I
did compile it without any problems.

I really think, the problem is deeper. But as you have Gnome 1.4 it is
no wonder, that the GTK bug still exists...
