Sorry, Jeff. I didn't mean to rile you. But let me pull a few phrases
from the post I was replying to:

I didn't take this as intending to convey respect for your
correspondents. I also don't see how it demonstrates an understanding of
where they are coming from. Can you see how I might get that impression?


Sorry to gripe in public about this, but I have a serious point.

That role requires you to represent, fairly and honestly, the desires of
a vast multitude. Even the appearance of contempt for users and/or their
requests can harm that process. Only you can know if it goes beyond
appearance, but if it does, that will harm not just the community, but
the product as well.

P.S. I don't mean to pick on you particularly; a number of encounters
with Ximian or people writing from @ximian.com addresses have left me
with similar feelings. So please forgive me if this seems out of
proportion to your message.
