I believe you've touched on the first to-do, and I don't agree that it
is mockups. First we need to know what the tasks are going to be in the application. You've listed: - check audio is working - check video is working - check video runtime (current length) - start, pause, and stop recording video (and associated audio I assume) - replay video with audio - mark timestamps in video - add notes to specific timestamps in video - stitch videos together This is just summarizing your points. I think we should come up with a good starting list (maybe a little more than this) before we start mocking things up. Or we can start mocking up these tasks and build from there. Should we move this to a dedicated mailing list rather than crowd the usability ML? Kirk Máirín Duffy wrote: On Tue, 2009-12-15 at 08:51 -0800, Anthony Ettinger wrote:Mockups? I may be able to put some together.Sweet! I think first we'll need a mockup of the basic UI layout - the video monitor, maybe a graph to show if audio is working or not, a running timer so you know how long the video's gone when it's in recording mode. You should be able to record, play, and stop the video. It would be nice too, with the CMML feature in mind, to be able to mark areas in the video timeline and have a pane to jot notes about that spot. Would be good too if you stop and start the recording, to be able to have the various cuts stitched together. ~m _______________________________________________ Usability mailing list Usability gnome org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/usability |
