Re: [orca-list] Screenreader Accessibility Testers for Ubuntu

For me on my Arch box, Cinnamon starts Orca but doesn't speak the menu buttons and such. Do I need to do
anything specific for Cinnamon to work?

I installed Mate desktop with sudo apt install mate-desktop-environment.
After launching a message appear about an error with the menu bar and the
option to delete or to ingnore. I press Enter and Mate works as expected.
Alt+F1 opens the main menu, Arrow Down to walk through the options and Arrow
Right to open a sub menu.

I can use Settings like in 20.04. After Setting is launched I tab to
Search, then type a character and press Escape. All options appear.
Arrow Down to select and press Enter. But if I need settings for energy,
I press the super key, type energy and Orca speaks the search result. I
press Enter or Tab to the right result.

I could not find startup applications to set the sound for to hear if
the system is ready to use. I noticed that Orca do not speak if Orca is
set to automatically start when the system starts. So after the system
starts I press Alt+F2, typing orca and press Enter.
