Re: [orca-list] The problem with navigation by heading randomly placing me at the end or beginning of the page is back

Confirmed. Will take a look. Thanks!

Not sure if related but similar, go here: again docs.microsoft.com, I

Now, try to navigate between headings to "Model binding changes in
ASP
.net core mvc and razor pages" or similar
Then, start pressing down arrow. After two presses of down arrow,
when
you get past the heading, you suddenly land on the feedback heading.
It didn't stop after I restarted orca so it seems always
reproducible,
and as said my chrome version is currently 88.0.4292.2

uhm not sure how much, but I'd guess this one is less than half of
a
second, may as well be around 200-300ms so it would be what you
describe, probably. The lag also happens when going to some heading
and
pressing down arrow, but I'd guess it's of similar length.

How big of a lag? I just cycled through all the headings at level
2,
wrapping to top, several times. The laggiest response time was
0.2678
seconds. Everything else was much faster. And the reason it took
a
quarter of a second when it did lag is that the page added a
heading
(or claimed to add a heading). As a result, Orca had to clear its
structural navigation cache.

If you're seeing a much more significant lag than that, then
please
send a full debug.out.

Thanks again!

Well, installed it and currently it seems to work, but it's
also a
bit
laggy. For example if I press down arrow on some headings I
actually
feel the lag. Also try to navigate through headings here
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/compatibility/3.1-5.0

experience lags from time to time, for example if I go to the

is a
lag.

Should be enough, yes. Please let me know what you find.

The newest unstable I can find that I can now install is

Not sure. Maybe it's a timing issue, maybe it's a
coincidence.
Lots
of
accessibility-related fixes and other changes have been
landing.

The parent-changed fix (along with other things) should
appear
in 88.0.4286.0.

Could you tell me how is that possible this bug was
still
happening
in
many instances, just more randomly, when orca did have
this

that didn't use the cache? I mean is that something
that

happening?
Also when could I expect that to land in the actual
google-
chrome-
unstable?

I was able to reproduce this in google-chrome-

I
recently

a change in Chromium to emit parent-changed events
which
fixes
a
bug
similar to what you describe. So, could you please
see if
you
can
reproduce this problem in a Chromium snapshot?

Thanks!

Hi,
You remember when I told you about the issue you
couldn't
reproduce
about navigation by headings?
It actually never stopped happening, but I couldn't
reproduce
it
consistently. Currently I managed to do it, it
seems,
except
that
I
am
not fully sure it's exactly the same issue. I will
send
debug.out
in
the
next mail.
So generally using orca master, google chrome
unstable
version
87.0.4263.3 and went to this page:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/aspnet/core/fundamentals/routing?view=aspnetcore-5.0
You can now try to navigate by heading. for some
reason
if I
do
this
fast enough it works, but if I do it slower, then
after
some
time
I
will
likely land on the first heading suddenly.
Also, what is not shown in the debug.out because I
forgot, is
that
pressing down arrow from the heading suddenly drops
me
off to
the
bottom
of the page. I will try to reproduce that too and
send
you
another
one then.
