Re: [orca-list] chromium with orca?

Works out of the box with Ubuntu 20.04 and orca 3.36.2

I really find it impressive.

I have found that the version of chromium installed from the standard repositories in ubuntu 18.04 do not work, at least with orca master, however the edge snap version works.

You can install the beta or dev channel snaps however, which isn't much of an issue really however

I've heard rumors that installing Chromium via apt installs the snap in the background, at least in 20.04. Not sure if those are accurate, but if the snap
can't be made accessible due to sandboxing, then maybe it's time to give Ubuntu its final `shutdown now`.

            Hi Bittu,,

Installing from Ubuntu  software centre. you installed the snap version. I think you have to uninstall from Ubuntu  software centre. and
            install within the terminal.

                      Hi Bittu,

Firstly sudo apt-get install chromium-browser will give you the
                      browser itself.

                      I am using Orca 3.36.2 on Ubuntu-mate 20.04.

Once you are done with installing the browser and correct version
of Orca then on the terminal use this command.

                      chromium-browser --force-renderer-accessibility --enable-caret-browsing
This will open chromium with wonderful accessibility.
I have just tried it and found very impressive.
