Re: [orca-list] Screencasts -- How to?

I guess I'm confused. You say you don't want to do "that" while wearing headphones, but then describe two separate scenarios. First you're on-screen, then you aren't.
What I'm getting at is that headphones will help keep Orca out of the video, right? Why not use a headset and mic when you *aren't* on-screen and need Orca? Then, film the on-screen intro separately and stitch them together?
I think I'd be highly annoyed videoing myself using Orca directly, or trying to video myself doing something where Orca would likely be a distraction to my viewers.
Anyhow, just thinking out loud. Good luck however you do it, and I'll update the list with how it goes for me.

I know what you mean by the critics.  I got yelled at just because I
snapped my fingers nine times in four and a half minutes, so I can
just imagine what would happen if I published a video where everyone
can hear Orca yelling at them at 100% speed rate, lol.  Geez, I
snapped my fingers so much because I don't have the luxury of having
notes infront of me to read off of, and it helped snap my mind back
into place when I got nervous.

Should have first screencast out tonight or tomorrow.  Will drop a
reply, and let you know what I learned, if anything.

Screencasts will just be me in terminal / text editor / Firefox.  For
example, first one will just be me doing a quick install of Apex, so
me flipping between the terminal and Firefox while talking.

Yes, I do script it, then memorize the script.  That's why I snapped
my fingers so much during the first video -- would help jolt my mind
back to where I was in the script.

No way I'll be able to get someone to do the actions for me while I
narrate.  I'm on my own for that one, which is fine.

Alright, so I guess just get some earplugs instead of headphones, turn
the volume down on Orca, and go for it.  Thanks!

Some times I narrate and do things on myself and Orca is indeed

at the same time.

I put the ear plugs and listen to  Orca on a relatively low volume,

If I have to read output of some thing I take my own time and then
tell
a sighted colligue to see how the time window can be contracted.

Is there anything particular you wish to know?

I want the ability to do screencasts, but little uncertain of how to
do that.  I'm completely blind, so can't see the screen at all.
Obviously, I need to have some type of headphones on if I'm doing a
screencast so I can hear Orca while I'm running commands.  This

I will sit there with the webcam recording, headphones on, Orca
yelling at me, while I'm trying to talk and explain things.

I don't know, does anyone maybe have a better idea than that?  I
could
do the screencast, then overlay audio, but that's even a wrose idea
for a blind guy.  I don't know, and no idea if there is a workable
solution to this, so just thought I'd ask to see if maybe someone
knows something I don't.
