Re: [orca-list] Is there a workaround for this Vim issue?

Actually, is it possible to run YASR in a gnome-terminal window and bypass the VTE issues? I'm afraid I do too much cutting-and-pasting between GUIs and terminals to just abandon X. It'd be far easier to just disable Orca speech while using Vim. Might also get me to stop checking HackerNews compulsively too, which would be a side benefit.

There has been plenty of discussion re yasr on this list of late, and most

I much prefer speakup myself at this time, but understand the problem you
have, i.e. I did not realize you were a fedora user.
If you need instructrions for setting up yasr, feel free to write me off
list and I can share what I have done on two distros with good results.
I remember someone posting a link to awhere one could get a kernel for
Fedora with speakup in it. I think the post was from about a year ago, but
could be wrong about that.
