hi
The secured thing is, I think, unity specific. Luke had to do some
fiddling to get that to announce in orca. The strength though ... that's
supposed to be announced. This might need work in orca to fix. I'm not
sure if it doesn't announce it because network manager doesn't present
it, or if orca is just not reading. Try using the numb pad enter key to
use where am I to read the object under the cursor. This will, for
example, read out the percentage on the volume slider in the panel,
where orca normally omits it. Joanie says this was done on purpose, but
if enough people want it changed she'll change it.
Thanks

I have some updates on my issue.
I just got some pending updates downloaded on my laptop.
Now when some one pings me on fb or google talk and I am using Pidgin,
the Notification is spoken out.
So this is an addition.
Further more modifying the favorites menu also speaks the notification
for adding or removing.
But the notifications for Wifi connection or even mobile broadbad
connecting or disconnecting is not reported. When I see the browse
through the list of wifi connections, Ora does not read secured or
unsecured and also does not report the strength.
Orca 3.18 from latest accessibility stack from luke's PPA.
Ubuntu 15.10 with gnome 3.16.
Happy hacking.

The question still stands,
Asuming I am running Orca 3.18 but gnome 3.16 (I use the latest
accessibility stack from the accessibility ppa ).
I still get the problems which I mentioned in my previous email.
Happy hacking.

Hello.
How to make sure I'm running latest Orca?
I'm currently running Debian with GNOME 3.18 and I thought Orca
followed the GNOME release cycle.
Is there an easy way of running current Orca code?

Dear all,
I have recently started to use Ubuntu-gnome 15.10 which has gnome
3.16 by
default.
While for most of the time it is very snappy and my machine rarely
lags in
performance, I found a major irritant which I mentioned in the
subject.
What it means is that if I press enter on a certain wifi
connection, I
should get Orca to announce notification automatically like
"notification
xyz connected "
Same is with mobile broadband.
I don't get notifications while connecting or disconnecting.
But when I have some notification in pidgin where some one sent a
message I
her Orca tell me the notification.
Further more, I can browse through the wifi access points but I
don't get
detailed infor like the signal strength or security status.
Am I doing some thing wrong?
Should I do some setting for this?
I am using the accessibility ppa, so I have latest stack with Orca
for sure.
Happy hacking.
