hi
I'll second this. If people are using alternative synths, such as
eloquence, festival, etc then they can use speech-dispatcher.
Otherwise they can use espeak. It might make orca a little more
responsive. The only issue I see with this, is I'd rather have teh
espeak module talk to the espeak API, and not simply copy a version of
espeak into itself, like nvda does. Nvda ensures that it always has a
synth available, at the cost of lagging behind new espeak releases.
Thanks

Howdy,
Built in access to espeak would offer a lot of advantages. We could
use variants without jumping through a ton of hoops, probablya
speed boost without having to go through a middle layer
(speech-dispatcher), and be able to use faster rates without
needing to change speeech-dispatcher config files. The
speech-dispatcher thing isn't working for me at the time of this
writing anyway, and even at 100% Orca is going painfully slow.
Thanks Storm PS Pretty please lol :)
