Re: [orca-list] apostrophe versus quote

I'm using all the defaults.

speech system = speech-dispatcher
speech synthesizer = espeak
person = default (en)

I changed the Person to Hungarian and it still said something different when I pressed the shift+6 keys and when I backspaced over the character. Of course, I don't know what it was saying but the words were different when I pressed the key combination and when I backspaced over the character. In the default voice, orca says circumflex when you press the shift+6 keys and caret when you backspace over the character.

I am running sonar linux which is a ubuntu fork. But the same thing happened in debian 7 (wheezy) so I doubt it has anything to do with ubunto or sonar.

Hi,

You what TTS and speech synth language using when experienced this issue?
I not reproduced this issue under Ubuntu 14.04, Orca latest master
branch release with Speech-dispatcher 0.8 Espeak module and hungarian
language of Espeak.
If I press ' character, Espeak wonderful spokening me the proper
hungarian translation the apostrophe character.
Same result I experienced if I press the quote character. If I goto this
characters the left arrow key, Orca or Espeak spokening me the proper
translation.
