I think my problem was more so related to the nVidia driver than 
anything. I added a variable (GRUB_GFXMODE) into /etc/default/grub and 
set IT to an appropriate resolution, updated my GRUB configuration file 
with "grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg', and everything seems to 
be working. I had a slight scare today because I had no video at all, 
but my system seems to be up and running just fine now. I was worried 
that something had happened to my monitor or video card, but I think my 
oldest son (who is almost three) got onto my desk and got into my 
cables. Fortunately everything is working just fine now!
