Does anyone have any idea why on my computer with the new install of
Ubuntu 11.04 windows-m does not work nor does using ctrl-alt-tab to switch
panels. I am told that the other panels are there although I don't know
how I can prove t. Is there a way to see if panels are there and
indicators are on them? I know they are installed on the machine. I am
using "classic GNOME".

Again, thanks Luke! I added the indicator applet (note that I used
control+F10 in the bottom edge panel to bring up the menu where I could
add applets) and now I'm playing with the different indicators. BTW,
sometimes I can't get out of the indicator applet and get back to my
desktop. Is there a sure fire way to jump from the indicator applet to
the desktop or somewhere else on the system?
As long as you use Windows key M to jump to the applet, you should be able to escape out easily enough with
the escape key. If you navigate to the indicator applet on the panel manually, there are focus issues when
you try to move focus away from the indicator applet.
