Bummer. I wonder if one or both of the following might be needed in
the root environment now:
* GTK_MODULES=gail:atk-bridge
* Accessibility support enabled (something like: gconftool-2 --set
"/desktop/gnome/interface/accessibility" --type boolean "True")
