I would very strongly recommend building your glibc with debugging
symbols. As you can see it's pretty hopeless otherwise.

Well - ORBit2 doesn't do anything that exotic at startup; it amazes me
that you have this problem, and from the strace it appears to be in
glibc - furthermore ORBit2 is running without issues on Solaris and
several variants of Linux; so it's almost certainly your system.

I imagine they might be interested - but they cannot fix a problem that
they can't reproduce without a stack trace.
