If you don't see any IE bits, then of course wpa_supplicant can't connect to the access point! There may one or both of two issues:
But I am able to connect with wpa_supplicant using the configuration from the last email, but not with NetworkManager. Difference between NetworkManager gui and wpa_gui from wpa_supplicant is that wpa_gui includes in its authentification methods alse IEEE802.1X (see attachment). NetworkManager does not do this, althugh all other authentification methods are included (WEP64/128, WPA/WPA2 Personal/Enterprise). I am using latest ipw2200 from vanilla-kernel 2.6.18: ipw2200: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200/2915 Network Driver, 1.1.2k ipw2200: Copyright(c) 2003-2006 Intel Corporation ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection ipw2200: Detected geography ZZR (14 802.11bg channels, 0 802.11a channels) ieee80211: 802.11 data/management/control stack, git-1.1.13 ieee80211: Copyright (C) 2004-2005 Intel Corporation <jketreno linux intel com> ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'NULL' ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'WEP' ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'CCMP' ieee80211_crypt: registered algorithm 'TKIP' As you can see my wpa_supplicant configuration from the last mail: 1. it's IEEE802.1X 2. it's two phase authentification and 3rd and most important 3. I am able to log in with wpa_supplicant without any problems using the the configuration from the last mail. I am using latest wireless-tools-28. I have no idea why these access points at work are not reporting IE bits, but they are using IEEE802.1X and two phase authentification. M.
