No, the clue is to use them and give other people more incentive to port
them.  By the time a new program is written, probably all the 2.6 libs
will be ported anyway.

Rather than implementing stuff oneself, it's often better to help the
larger community by porting the libraries that are already widely used.
That way everyone benefits.
