well it all depends which Linux distribution and graphical environment
you are using.

My parents run Mandrake 9.2 on a PII 400/128M and it works OK. Not great
but OK. I will probably have to replace Gnome with XFCE when upgrading
their box to 10.1. Choice is good!

Running XP on such a box will be let as an exercise to the reader.
