I can't put in much more than the weekends and some night during the
week, but I think that's enough. As timeframe, I guess 8 hours a week
are quite enough.
About the code how do I get
started? Are we working on the dev server https://lafarga.cpl.upc.edu/
and creating the theme there?
We will be working each one on his own plone instance. Like, you can
install plone on your laptop (as I do) and work on there to see the
changes and all. Then you commit changes that does not break the site
horribly (that don't generate a Zope error).
Okay I have installed Plone on to my Dapper Desktop. I shall be working
on this over the week.
The main page, however, needs to be created as a "Product", which
means quite some python and plone coding. It's not a huge amount of
code that needs to be written (quite few, in fact) but you should
first read some doc and familiarize with Plone, and whenever you have
any doubt ask in the list.
As a start, I'll advise you to read the Definitive Guide to Plone
http://plone.org/documentation/manual/definitive-guide/definitive_guide_to_plone.pdf
<http://plone.org/documentation/manual/definitive-guide/definitive_guide_to_plone.pdf>
http://docs.neuroinf.de/PloneBook/ (HTML version)
I'll suggest you to take a look and then decide if you feel like going
on. Don't feel pressured at all and take your time.
Sure, I will begin slowly due to becoming familiar with PLONE, I'm
sure once I get into it I will be more efficient.
To sum up things a bit:
* Today I'll try to boot Ubuntu Edgy off my laptop due to usability
issues and install Fedora. Wish me luck
Arhh man, how can you leave Ubuntu, bless its little sole, just go
back to dapper, I was not keen on the Edgy release, it's bug riddled.
* We need (as of now) to create / modify the following products:
- Mainpage (lee?)
Okay count me in and ignore post I sent about leaving a couple of days
ago. I will try and commit 2 hours each day for next few weeks ;-).
- Plonesoftwarecenter (Simon Rozet and me)
