About the only way you can keep everybody happy - the south of England is
very over represented by our media already (especially the BBC - we don't
all live in the South East).

How about one of the chalk figures that dots the UK's countryside (e.g.
the Kilburn white horse, a common site when I were a lad).

I *think*, though I could be wrong, that chalk figures are essentially
English rather than UK. It's worth pointing out, too, that most of
these are, at the earliest, 19th century inventions (I realise that
the white horse at Uffington, possibly best known internationally
through XTC's English Settlement album sleeve, is the real deal).

How about the highest peaks of the UK? Scafell, Ben Nevis, Snowdon,
Slieve Donard? This would at least counteract there not being many
non-English locations...
