Yes, that would certainly be an elegant way to do it. It does rely on
YOURDISTRO supporting multimedia keys out of the box, though, right?

fcrozat? We're right at the bitter (i.e. rushy) end of our release cycle
right now, so I wouldn't want to bother him with that :). If no-one else
has time / inclination to try it right now, I'll ask him once 2006 is
out the door.

Alas, I currently have -$36 more than I need to pay rent this month, and
I just got an Unrecoverable Seek Error on my hard disk, which is
something you _never_ want to see, so I'm likely to have some
Seagate-related expenses quite soon as well...:\
