Re: [gnome-cy] Wha'ppen?

I am afraid I am going to reply to a whole batch of things one email
after another. I seem to be behind!

Yes. I really hadn't realised quite how much banging around you have
to do to get people to listen. Or at least, I knew from general
free software land. I am surprised that it's the case here. I
would have thought that being able to use software in Welsh would
be much more of a draw.

After the Awareness Day in Cardiff, Richard Wenner, who is very involved
in a number of free software efforts in Cardiff (principally the wireless
end of things) made exactly this point. He said something to the effect
of "you have to pick a point, and then make sure that someone is telling
people at the top that point, and that someone is telling people at the ..
well, the sharp end, the same point, and that someone is telling other
people the same point. And eventually, they will remember."

Well, initially I was thinking of just contacting them and asking
"Did you do this pilot? What were the results? Did you know about
the Welsh-language versions of the desktops, of OpenOffice, of
Mozilla?"

Persuading them to do another (or a first) pilot, I hadn't thought
of. Someone else is better-suited to that. I just thought they
might be interested. I can mail them, or someone else can.

One week away now!

And I shall be away over the bank holiday weekend, and I bet I'm
not the only one.
