Re: [Gimp-developer] Branding documents for GIMP

Yes, I use Scribus all the time for magazines and brochures. I'd like to
start with the "design guidelines" I think is what we came to on #GIMP
tonight. I was able to collect some useful links from people, and get
enough information to start. I'll present information both there and here
and try and keep the two as up to date as I can. Apparently #gimp is where
most of the magic happens. Lots of fun people too. :)

More as I get more underway.

Brochures could be made with scribus as this is what it is made todo. also
Scribus is what the people over at GIMPmagazine <http://gimpmagazine.org/> uses
to make their great magazines.

To kick it off, I've uploaded my own rendition of Wilbur:

Nice! although I think Wilber is a bit dark around the edges.

Is it useful to talk about GIMP branding in this way? Are there interested
parties on #GIMP? Or would my time be better spent just coming up with a
design document, and gathering information from people along the way, then
presenting the document as a possible addition to the GIMP website?

I think that the best thing to do would be make your own document, present
it and then we can discuss individual topics. This way we can sign off and
approve sections of the document.

Nevermind. Got some really interesting conversation already. There's even

I have no idea how to use an IRC meeting bot, but if someone wants to
set
up some meetings, I'll be happy to make myself available to chat
irc-style.

Okay, so I posted a summary of the gimp brand stuff to the gimp irc
channel
#GIMP. Am I to assume someone will eventually see it? I mean, is it
logged
or something?

Not logged.

Not publicly logged, but logged.

And for real meetings with action items and such, Wilber has got the
Meetingbot plug-in installed.
