definitely not for 3.10, it's way too old, too obsolete, for the

    Hi,
just a quick follow-up, the SMTP provider for 3.19.1+/3.18.1+ will try
to reconnect when the AUTH command fails due to a connection being lost
(the underlying stream doesn't claim connection lost, but the end of
stream instead, which is the reason why it didn't return any real error
and the runtime warnings were printed on the console).

You can ask your distribution maintainer of the evolution-data-server
to backport this commit:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution-data-server/commit/?id=3fc24c8

It might be a smooth backport, I think.
    Bye,
    Milan

Thank you very much Milan for your effort.

For me the problem is solved in evolution 3.10 since I could write
smtp password
quiclky enough before the close of connection by server. Now I have
the smtp password in seahorse
and know what to do in order to send mail with ono account through
evolution.

I will ask in ubuntu forums to introduce the patch in evolution data
server in a backport repository.

... or better ask them to continuously upgrade to a recent version even
in LTSs !
