Again: Defining a new label, either in the system preferences -> Mail or
by selecting a mail and using the right-click pop-up, adds this
new label to the above mentioned combo-box allowing you to filter the
list according to this criterion. Entering a term in to the search box
to the right lets you search within these mails.
