you mean a bug in the IMAP server?
Now, that's rather unlikely. I did not have any issues accessing those 
imap mailboxes with Evolution-2.2.x and every version before that.

During some more googeling I read somewhere that evo 2.3.6 had some 
issues with imap renaming, moving, deleting folders. Could that be related?
