Re: [Evolution] imap spam issues

I mean this totally non-rhetorically: am I the first person to ever use
evolution+IMAP+cyrus? It would seem to me that this would have been
reported before if it was happening to everyone with this combination of
software, as cyrus seems to be a pretty widely deployed server... though
I can't imagine any misconfiguration on my end which could be causing
this. Any ideas are welcome

I don't think you are the first one using Evolution, IMAP and Cyrus.
Anyway, the odds are way better that you actually are the first one
using this environment with a local SA... ;)

When using an IMAP server, server side Spam filtering would be far
better a solution in most cases. Regardless of the client the mails are
always scanned for being Spam and Bayes filters are better trained,
giving better detecting results. Plus, the mails are already filtered at
the time you fire up your mail client -- with a local Spam filter you
end up retrieving any single mail and checking it, which can take a lot
of time and could have been done long ago...
