Thanks! I did, and I'm now that much wiser. I've obviously been reading
too much (or misunderstanding) Openldap blurb which couples SASL
authentication to Kerberos V. I just use "authentication methods" for
the normal SMTP/POP3/IMAP authentication alternatives.

Still, a rose by any other name smells as sweet.
