Probably you installed it in the wrong prefix. Unless you enjoy
suffering, your best bet is to put all GNOME programs into the same
prefix. (This is assuming I'm understanding the problem here)

Evolution is looking for bonobo_confConf.sh which is installed in libdir
somewhere but presumably it is not the libdir in which gnome-config
expects to find it.

Sorry if this isn't addressing your actual problem but I don't have much
information to go on here. I could be more specific if you paste the
errors that you get from configure or gcc or whatever is 'not finding
bonobo-conf'.
the port puts it in /usr/X11R6/lib

How do I tell it to find it?
