Hi,

   If the core file isn't in the same directory than the program, the 
command 'gdb easytag core' should return nothing...
But if you run gbd like this :

gdb easytag

then

gdb> run

easytag starts...
reproduce the crash

and run the following command to get the backtrace :

gdb> bt

also, this command may be usefull :

gdb> l
