It probably is. Try filling your .is_audio_player file in with the following:
audio_folders=Music/
output_formats=application/ogg,audio/x-ms-wma,audio/flac,audio/x-wav,audio/mpeg
playlist_formats=audio/x-mpegurl
Ensure there is a blank line at the end of the file or banshee won't
detect the last value (Bug 656176:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=656176). You may need to
tweak it a little from there, but it should get you going.
