Could you try running this, and posting the results?

mono /usr/lib/mono-zeroconf/MZClient.exe -v -r -t _daap._tcp

MZClient.exe is a simple browser mono-zeroconf provides, and you should already have installed.
mono-zeroconf provides the magic here.... :D

Here is the output of banshee-1 --debug. I'm afraid, there is no real
difference to the above debug output:

The output after 17:55:55.879 results from closing banshee. During this five
minutes running, banshee was not able to find my DAAP server.
