If you mean the mail thread, the bug wasn't mentioned.
If you mean some distribution-specific forum or other, no idea.

None the less, there are only two comments on the bug in 5 years,
so it's not very active.
The bug entry is much clearer than your mail here.
In fact, as far as I can tell, there are two stages to
opening a folder -
(1) double cilck action happened, window not yet open
(2) window is open but contents are not yet drawn
At stage (2) the cursor is set to an hourglass or wristwatch, so that
part seems to be handled.

If the problem is that it takes a long time for the window to appear,
the difficulty I see is that it might take roughly the same length of
time to do anything else (nautilus was swapped out, most likely).

But maybe there should be a desktop-wide system-is-busy cursor until
the window appears, or until some timeout or other?
